As the ceremony progresses, the circle opens up, allowing each participant to share their stories, dreams, and deepest vulnerabilities in a safe and nurturing container.

What is a Cacao Ceremony?
Cacao is a plant ally that aids in accessing the wisdom of your heart. This wisdom comes in gently, waiting for you to be receptive.
I created “Whispers Of Cacao” because I saw a need to provide a space where we could tune into this wisdom. A ceremonial space that would cultivate stillness because it is in our stillness that the whispers become audible.

Before each event, I hold my own personal cacao ceremony to connect deeply with the spirit of cacao.
This sacred practice allows me to attune to the unique energies and messages that the cacao spirit wants to convey for the upcoming group ceremony.
By immersing myself in this mindful ritual, I receive insights and guidance that shape each month's event.
This approach ensures that our gatherings are specifically tailored to the attendees who feel called to join, making each ceremony a deeply personal and transformative experience.
Each ceremony may include breathwork, yoga, meditations, energy practices, discussions and/or coaching. All ceremonies include time for journaling.
I invite you to embark on a transformative monthly journey, where the alchemy of cacao becomes the catalyst for breaking through the barriers that confine the radiant spirit of your heart.
Why Cacao?
It contains various molecules that elevate your emotions and connects you to the wisdom of your heart
1. Phenylethylamine, (PEA) aka the "love chemical" stimulates brain chemistry often associated with the feelings we have when we are in love. When PEA levels are elevated, the receptors in the brain will receive these molecules instead of absorbing dopamine, which leaves more dopamine in the brain. Higher dopamine levels boost our mood and lift our spirits.
2. Anandamide, aka the "bliss molecule" acts as a feel-good chemical, creating a sense of well-being and mild euphoria produced when the body releases endorphins. Ceremonial Cacao allows us to connect to the wisdom of our heart, learning what we need to clear the way to live connected and open hearted.
3. Theobromine has a similar structure to caffeine. However, it provides a milder and longer-lasting form of stimulation. It works by dilating blood vessels, increasing blood flow, and stimulating the central nervous system, which helps improve focus and alertness without causing the rapid energy spikes and crashes associated with caffeine. Theobromine enhances your energy levels and mood, contributing to an overall sense of well-being. It's also what creates the physical sensation of your heart opening.
How To Prepare
Creating a sacred space is an essential step in preparing for our monthly online cacao ceremony. This will help you connect deeply with the spirit of cacao and fully immerse yourself in the experience.
Preparing Your Sacred Space
Choose a Quiet Location: Select a spot in your home where you feel comfortable and won’t be disturbed. This could be a dedicated meditation room, a cozy corner in your living room, or even a peaceful spot in your garden.
Cleanse the Space: Before the ceremony, cleanse the area to remove any negative energy. You can do this by burning sage, palo santo, or incense, and setting an intention to invite positivity, love, and peace into your space.
Set Up an Altar: Create an altar as a focal point for your ceremony. Putting down an altar cloth on which to place items such as crystals, candles, flowers, meaningful objects, or a small bowl of cacao beans. Pictures of ancestors or spirit guides can help call them in. Whatever will help you to focus on the sacredness of the ceremony.
Set Your Intention: Spend a few moments in meditation to set a personal intention for the ceremony. Think about what you hope to gain from the experience and what you wish to release or invite into your life.
Prepare Your Cacao: Make your cacao drink in advance. I recommend Keith's Cacao as I can vouch for the quality and ethical practices. There is an option to buy when registering. You can mix it with warm water or plant milk, and add any spices or sweeteners you like. Stir it with love and the intention you set for the ceremony while preparing it.
Gather Additional Items: Have a journal and pen handy to jot down any insights, and a blanket or cushion for comfort.
By following these steps, you'll be ready to join our cacao ceremony in a space that feels sacred and supportive. We look forward to sharing this transformative experience with you!
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
While cacao offers numerous health benefits and enhances spiritual practices, it’s important to be aware of some contraindications. You can still consume cacao, it's just recommended to take smaller doses.
Individuals who are sensitive to stimulants should consume cacao in moderation, as it contains theobromine, which can increase heart rate and stimulate the central nervous system.
It is recommended that pregnant or breastfeeding women take a smaller dose. Somewhere between 14-20 grams.
The MAOI in cacao may interact with anti-depressants so it's advised to avoid large doses of cacao.
Additionally, people with a history of kidney stones should be cautious, as cacao is high in oxalates, which can contribute to kidney stone formation. Always listen to your body and seek professional advice to ensure cacao is safe for you.
